An Excerpt from My Travels with Kutty Swamiji
– “Shishira Pravasa”

As we began our journey, referred to as “Shishira Pravasa”, I couldn’t help but reflect on the deeper meaning behind the words. “Shishira” (शिशिर) is the winter season, a time that symbolizes rejuvenation and renewal—a period meant for quiet reflection and spiritual growth. “Pravasa” (प्रवास) means traveling, but not just physically—it’s a journey that touches the soul, a pilgrimage that’s both outward and inward.

The combination of these two words perfectly captures the essence of this journey: it’s not just about visiting places, but also about discovering new layers within ourselves. Like the winter season, which encourages stillness and contemplation, Shishira Pravasa invites us to step back from the busyness of life, to pause and reflect, and to realign with the timeless wisdom of Vedanta.

Traveling alongside Pujya Acarya Svami Haribrahmendrananda Tirthaji, whom we lovingly call Kutty Swamiji, I have experienced firsthand how this journey is far more than just moving from place to place. It’s a deeply spiritual experience, one that nurtures the soul. With every step, whether in silence or in action, we’re reminded that life itself is a pilgrimage, constantly guiding us toward enlightenment. Each moment brings us closer to understanding our true nature.

So, Shishira Pravasa isn’t just about a series of visits. It’s a spiritual journey—a beautiful invitation to pause, reflect, and grow, surrounded by wisdom and grace, helping us move closer to the realization of who we truly are.

Pujya Acarya Svami Haribrahmendrananda Tirthaji graced the members of the Rotary Club Kankaria in Ahmedabad as part of the ongoing Shishira Pravasa 2024-2025 from November 21 to 25, 2024. Swamiji’s presence at the gathering infused the atmosphere with spiritual energy, offering attendees a transformative experience over the course of these sessions.

During the sessions, Swamiji shared insightful and profound success stories of Lord Krishna, illuminating the spiritual path that leads one to inner peace and self-realization. Swamiji also underscored the importance of preserving our sacred values and traditions, ensuring they are carried forward to the coming generations for the benefit of society.

As an expression of devotion and gratitude, the members of the Rotary Club performed a heartfelt Aarti to Lord Krishna at the conclusion of each session. This act of devotion strengthened the collective bond of the gathering and deepened the spiritual atmosphere.

Swamiji was invited with great reverence to the homes of the Ashram’s well-wishers and followers, where he was honored with Biksha (a traditional offering of food). These intimate moments further solidified the connection between Swamiji and the local community, reinforcing the deep spiritual bond shared with the Ashram.

On the final day of the session, Swamiji lovingly distributed Prasad to all present, bestowing his divine blessings upon the gathering. The act of sharing Prasad was a powerful symbol of the unity, love, and wisdom that flowed throughout the sessions.

The entire series of events was a profound expression of devotion, unity, and the sharing of divine wisdom, marking a memorable and spiritually uplifting chapter in the Shishira Pravasa journey. The impact of Swamiji’s visit will undoubtedly resonate in the hearts of all who were present, nurturing both their spiritual growth and sense of community.
